The Facility
The largest hazardous waste treatment capability in the country.
BeAAT was built to take the waste that industry cannot treat on site and cannot lawfully export: high-strength liquids, metal-bearing sludges, spent catalysts, tars, contaminated soils and packaging. It handles all three phases under one permit, so a mixed consignment is characterised once and separated internally rather than split across vendors.
The plant came to Magma through the first full privatisation of an ADNOC asset — a transaction structured with project finance rather than an operate-and-transfer model, giving the operator long-term ownership of both the asset and the liability that runs through it.
What the plant does
Recovery is prioritised wherever the stream allows. Final disposal is the route of last resort, not the default.
Recycling & recovery
Separation and reclamation of oils, solvents and metals from emulsions, sludges and spent baths, returning material value instead of burying it.
Processing & stabilisation
Neutralisation, dewatering and stabilisation to render corrosive, reactive or leachable waste safe to handle and store.
Safe disposal
Engineered final disposal for residues with no recovery route, with documented destruction available for controlled product.
