The first shipment of radioactive containers has successfully arrived on-site, marking a new chapter in Magma's operations.



 

 

 



The containers arrived after thorough verification of the transport documents. Following this, a meticulous control process was implemented to ensure compliance with the radioactive materials transport code.

These containers originate from ADNOC offshore facilities and each 40-foot container houses **90 tubes**, each **9 meters** long, contaminated by natural radioactivity. The average weight of each container is **14 tons.**  
  
Our Radio Protection Officer (RPO), conducted a dose rate measurement both in direct contact with the container and at a distance of one meter. Additionally, the weighbridge operator, seen wearing a white mask in the photos, performed a non-contamination check using smears. These procedures are vital to confirming the safety of the containers before they proceed further.

The processing unit at Magma UAE is designed to handle up to 16 tubes per day, ensuring a steady and safe processing rate.

Once all safety doubts were resolved, the transport proceeded to the weighbridge and the containers were unloaded into a monitored area, ready for the next phase of treatment.
